In 1968, Terry and Dianne purchased the home farm in Burlington, WI and began milking Holstein cows and raising Birkshire hogs. Terry and Dianne, along with Kevin and Kurt, showed Birkshire hogs at the state and national levels receiving a variety of awards for some of the top Birkshires in the nation. In the 1970s, the family started to raise Angus cattle for both Kevin and Kurt to show. In the late 70s, Terry and Dianne started a club pig sale and started to sell boars internationally.
In 1990, Terry and Dianne started a new endeavor, Kegley Show Supplies. They began to become more interested in the beef cattle and developed a great passion for helping the youth. They started to sell some of the club calves to the local 4-H and FFA members. Terry and Dianne, and Kurt and Jenni along with their kids Kayla, Wyatt and Madison continue to operate the farm with assistance from Kevin (Kurt’s brother), Erik (cousin), and Thomas (nephew) when he is home from Afghanistan. Kegley Farms currently consists of 160 acres and rents approximately 150 additional acres. Kegley Farms started an annual club calf sale in 2000 and will be celebrating its 10th annual sale this year on October 10.

Some of the successes that Kegley Farms has had outside of the Hereford community include 2001 Supreme Heifer at the Wisconsin State Fair with an Angus, raising and selling high quality show steers that have won all over the Midwest, and raising a high quality Chi-Maine bull, Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods was purchased by Matt Lautner. Tiger Woods first calf crop has been very exciting and he has produced some high end calves. Kegley Farms has great interest to continue to grow their Hereford herd and have started embryo transplant work.
Kegley Farms plan is to continue to grow their herd and start a production sale in the next couple of years. Watch for their consignments in the upcoming sales. They will have a Reload heifer in the World Beef Expo Sale, a Hard Drive heifer in the sale at Kansas City, and a Wide Load bull out of the 10H Stockette cow and another Hard Drive heifer at the State Sale in Lancaster in March of 2011.
