Stolee Wins Outstanding Junior Award

Tayton Stolee, Argyle, WI was named the Wisconsin Junior Hereford Association Outstanding Junior Member for 2010. She won a silver belt buckle which is given to the most dedicated junior member each year. Tayton is a lifelong member of the Wisconsin Junior Hereford Association and has been Director, Secretary, Treasure, and President of the association. In addition she is a past Wisconsin Polled Hereford Queen and Scholarship recipient from the WJHA. She is currently studying at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Wiechert and Bowen named 2010 Scholarship Recipients

Julie Wiechert, Cedarburg, WI was named the Wisconsin Junior Hereford Associations Scholarship Winner for 2010. Elizabeth Bowen, New Lisbon, Wisconsin was the second place winner.

Wiechert was awarded the $780 first place award. Wiechert is the current Vice-President for the Wisconsin Junior Hereford Association and has been a past Outstanding Junior Member and Wisconsin State Queen. Nationally, she has won the Poll-ette Founders Scholarship and an Ed Bible Memorial Scholarship. She is currently studying Pharmacy at Drake University.

As second place winner, Bowen was awarded $520 towards her studies. Bowen is the 2011 Wisconsin State Hereford Queen and is currently the Membership Secretary for the WJHA. She is studying at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

The scholarship program is administered through the Wisconsin Junior Hereford Association and is supported financially with an $800 donation from the Wisconsin Hereford Association. Junior Members interested in applying for 2011 are encouraged to apply by July 1. Applications are available below.

Scholarships

WJHA members could win a Pride Scholarship worth up to $275 to help attend Pride Convention. Secondary scholarships totaling $1300 per year are also available. Check the Hereford website for details or contact BJ Jones, Junior Advisor, at or 608-482-2961.
